Liberation is what you receive when you go from pleasing people to pleasing God. It is impossible to please everyone and the moment you make that your goal is when you lose yourself. God did not put us here to be people pleasers. People change, one breath they will praise you but in the next they will curse you. They are for you and against you all at the same time.
What does it mean to please people? Is pleasing people the same as serving? I believe serving people and pleasing people are distinctly different. To serve is being effective in whatever it is that you are doing for the benefit of others. Pleasing people is doing whatever you can disregarding everything just to be accepted by others. When you fully embrace who you are in Christ Jesus. You will come to a place of contentment and satisfaction. For you will no longer seek and do to be accepted. You will give and serve because of what has already been done for you.
To serve is being effective in whatever it is that you are doing for the benefit of others. Pleasing people is doing whatever you can disregarding everything just to be accepted by others.
Pursue God and His will. You will soon realize that His will involves the benefit of those around you. When you please God, everybody wins.
