Shed light on your thoughts by sharing them with God. This is not because the LORD does not know, He does. The purpose of this is you committing to Him that which is consuming your mental space. Anxiety and Peace cannot coexist in your mind. You will either have thoughts entrapped by anxiety or peace resting over every thought.
This is not as simple as talking to God about your anxious thoughts. You must submit those thoughts over to God. This requires you to be in a position of humility. Otherwise, pride will come in and say, “I can handle this on my own.” We have power but God has ALL-power. Some things are too difficult for us to bear and that is okay. We must allow humility to help us realize this and that we have a loving Heavenly Father that cares deeply for His children.
When we approach God with thanksgiving, it takes the attention from why we are coming to Him for a specific request and shines light on Who He is. Thanksgiving is a faith builder. It makes us remember all that God has brought us through. It reminds us that He is still our provider and sustainer. Let us praise and thank Him! Watch and see that those thoughts that we consider to be enormous issues cannot be compared to Our Mighty LORD.
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. - Philippians 4:6–7.
