Closeness of God
Closeness, this is what God has desired with us from the moment of creating us. To know God, His will and desires is revealed unto those who seek Him. The kind of closeness I speak of is not geographical location. It is not a closeness that depends on what you do but more so on how you respond. For response will lead to choices that will either drive you closer to God or further away.
Example By Noah
Noah demonstrated this. In Genesis 6:9 it is said of Noah being a “just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God” (NKJV). Noah lived His life by actively staying close with God. This was rare in His time for the wickedness of man was ever increasing (Genesis 6:5). People during this time thought that Noah was “weird” or foolish for building a boat. However, Noah knew of something that others did not. For Noah was divinely warned by God that He was bringing judgement upon the earth. Noah moved by faith and was saved from the flood.
Draw Near
Noah believed God. He walked with God. This is living in proximity to God. When you are close with God you will understand and know things that others will not. Your perspective and how you relate to the world will be different. Dare to draw near and you too will be saved from the destruction that awaits and renewal that will surpass any expectations.
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8 NKJV)
