At His Command

Devotional Journal: Reflection on Job 37

A flash of lighting….BOOM there goes the sound of thunder. The first rain of the season has dropped on a thirsty land yearning for its source of life. God has decreed it, and this is done all over the earth. He commands the weather for various reasons. As stated in Job 37:13, The LORD causes these things to come to pass for “correction, His land, or for mercy.” From rainstorms to tornados and earthquakes. All are never by accident or mother nature. Every weather event comes to pass at His command.

In this age it seems as though catastrophic weather events are appearing more frequently. Not only are they happening more but at greater intensity. The Lord Has described this as “the beginning of sorrows” (Matthew 24:4-8). For we are moving ever closer to His return and these signs should draw our attention towards Him.

LORD, all those who have been affected by earthquakes, tornados, fires and so forth. I pray that you will restore what was lost. That you bring healing to what is broken and may they find hope in You during this hard time. Amen!
