Present

Devotional Journal: Reflection on Jeremiah 23:23-24

Nowhere hidden

Where can I go? Any location far and near, you are there. Realms visible and invisible cannot escape your presence. This truth brings comfort to those who are of your fold and fear to those who are not known to you. Omnipresence can only be ascribed to the LORD. It’s beyond our limited minds to fully grasp this truth. His presence is always present.

Same God, different outcomes

His omnipresence is not always expressed the same way. His presence may be in the form of wrath to declare His judgement. He may show forth as peace to sustain during turmoil. No matter what the situation is. He remains the same even if the situation and outcome are different. I believe this is why He is pleased by our faith. For we are sustained in Him when we never wavier from His Character.

His vantage point

From my point of view the world can seem on edge and slowly spiraling into destruction. From His perspective nothing is out of control, and it never will be.  Even during times when anxious thoughts begin to flood my mind. I can just hear the LORD say “Be still”. He is present in my situation and yours. We just need to see from His vantage point. May we be present in His reality having our eyes open to what He sees. Experiencing His peace, love and grace in our ever changing present.

23 “Am I a God at hand, declares the LORD, and not a God far away? 24 Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the LORD. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the LORD.-Jeremiah 23:23-24
