We all at some point in time hoped for something. A child, a marriage, a career. You know exactly what that hope is. When the hope is finally manifested it brings forth such a harvest of joy and fulfillment. This is what a manifested hope produces.
Your attitude and thought when coming before a Holy God are much more important than what you are presenting before Him. If I seek God, it must come from a place of sincerity and not one of routine.
We can be defined by a multitude of things. Career, possessions, family, friends, positions. All of this has the power to define and crush us. Loyalty in created things such as these over the Creator is a dangerous place to be in.
