Salvation To Those Who Fear Him

“Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land.”-Psalm 85:9

Salvation is needed for all but not all is aware that they need to be saved. If humility makes us aware of our own short comings then reverence and respect for God makes us aware of His power and love. How often do we remember the times when we were young how independent we tried to be. Helpless in a lot of ways but in our mind it was a different story. We thought we could conquer any challenge or obstacle that was presented to us but we failed to recognize our own short comings. I see this now with my own kids how quick they are to claim independence but they cant even tie their own shoes without crying out for help. However, me being a loving Father and (sometimes) patient dad can see their struggles. I step in to help them. I step in not only because I have the ability/power to help. I step in because I love them and desire to help them when they need it most. I just wanted them to recognize their need of me. To know that Dad is always here to help them no matter how big or small the obstacle may be.

How much so is our need of salvation by our Heavenly Father who’s power is beyond our imagination. Power that cannot be matched. Yet this power that I speak of is not one of might but of love. His love is power that saves us. A love that is filled with His glory.
