According To Your Word

Can someone trust you according to your word? Does your word pack a firm stance that what you speak stands? Words have mighty power because what you speak usually reflects who you are. “According to your word” is such a powerful, weighty statement if given much thought. Let us explore this a little…

What they say is exactly how it is and will not change. Im sure that when thinking about this previous underlined statement only a select few people come to mind. If this is true why is it so difficult for us to believe the same thing about God? After all it is impossible for God to lie. What is spoken will come to pass. It may not happen according to your own timing but it will still come to pass. From my own experience, I believe that at times when I fail to believe God at His word is because of my own lack of understanding. I try to understand God from my own perspective and forget to realize that the ways of God are far beyond how humans think and operate.

A heart that believes God according to His word requires an understanding that only the Holy Spirit can bring. It is only through the Holy Spirit that we are able to have and understand the mind of God. When we have the mind of God we do not fear when things get ugly. We are not shaken at a negative report or when death is spoken over our life. For when we believe according to “His” word nothing else can come against it.

"Let my cry come before You, O LORD; Give me understanding according to Your word. Let my supplication come before You; Deliver me according to Your word."-Psalm 119:169-170 (NKJV)

"God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?"-Numbers 23:19 (NKJV)
