Imagine building a house. A house built upon your own efforts for fame, possessions, and prestige. Now imagine this same house being completely destroyed or forgotten by the storm called time. This is the outcome when one builds their house without the LORD. On our own, nothing will stand, any legacy built without the LORD is a legacy built in vain.
Purpose is the heartbeat of why one goes to build their legacy. Often ,that heartbeat is only tuned to receiving blessings. This will lead to us missing the mark of our purpose if the mindset is completely consumed with only obtaining blessings . We will miss the great impact God is doing through us. We will miss out on maximizing what God has entrusted to us.
At the end of the day, we all have been equipped with the necessary tools to build upon the House of God. His legacy will only stand when this lifetime fades away. When God looks at what you have built for Him, will it display His glory or be burned up in flames? Will your legacy be entwined with His? Two houses are always presented before us but only one house will stand.
“Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it: Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain. It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep.”-Psalm 127:1-2
