If power that we rely on is only the extent of ourselves than we will never experience the power that faith in God can give us. The miracle of life is beyond the actions of human beings. To take it a step further. To give birth to a child beyond the age of bearing children is truly a miracle that only from the power of God can accomplish. This power was on full display regarding Sarah. It is said in Hebrews 11:11 that it was “by faith that Sarah received the power to conceive seed.” She was past the age to bare children but faith. Not faith in some imaginary thought that was conceived in the mind. Not in a faith of a hope that was conceived from desire. This faith was in God who had promised her that she would bear a child. This promise was declared in words yet to be manifested.
Let us be diligent in studying and knowing the promises that God has declared to us in His word. We must stand firm with faith in all that He Has promised us. There is an abundance of life waiting for us beyond our own limitations with this life. We have a future and hope in Jesus Christ that all that will be revealed will go beyond any expectation and thought. Faith in Jesus Christ will always surpass the life that we can provide for our self.
Lord, I pray that my faith may be grounded in what you have promised and not in what I can currently see. You are a good God. You have so much more to do through me and for me. Increase my faith to obtain the power that you have reserved for me. In Jesus Name Amen.
By faith Sarah herself received power to conceive, even when she was past the age, since she considered him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born descendants as many as the stars of heaven and as many as the innumerable grains of sand by the seashore.-Hebrew 11:11-12 ESV
