Praise

From the highest heaven to the lowest upon the earth. We all share a common duty; we are made to give praise. Not praise to anything or anyone. Exclusive praise to our Creator. Praise to the LORD who gives us the breath to breathe. Strength to rise from the bed. Peace to keep us. Physical and spiritual food that gives life unto us whole. As it is “Today” and every day we have His breath in our lungs we have the opportunity to give Him praise. A thank you for extending his grace, mercy, and love to us every day.

Praise is defined as making something clear, to shine, to boast, to celebrate, to bless, to kneel. (Strong’s Concise Dictionary Logos Version). Our life should be beaming with light that points to Jesus Christ. A celebratory life that shows how great our LORD is. When we live in this way, things begin to shift. You will not be consumed with your own thoughts and worries. Love and peace begin to dominate your thought space. The environment around you begins to change, what was once an environment filled with darkness is now bursting with light. Praise is beyond just acknowledging who the LORD is. Praise is an act of surrender to God. Praise brings benefits to us that we can never receive on our own. The next time the Holy Spirit prompts you to praise God just let it flow.

A good place to find scripture filled with praise is in the book of Psalms. Specifically, chapters 145-150. David a man after God’s own heart beautifully proclaimed praise unto God. I believe David was able to proclaim God in this way because of the condition of His heart. A heart filled with humility and trust. May we pray to God that He cultivate within us a humble and trusting heart overflowing with praise to Him.

Heart Behind The Message

All of psalm 148 speaks about God’s creation giving Him praise. From the highest of heavens to the lowest of earth. All of creation is to reflect the glory of the LORD. To be a light for God. When others see me they are suppose to see God. LORD help me to shine for you in the best way that you have made me to do. Open my eyes to see you in all that you have created. A ongoing forever beautiful glorious portrait of You is on full display in all that you have created.-April 24,2022
