A Reward That Is Greater

“By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to suffer affliction, with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward.”- Hebrews 11:24-26 (NKJV)

Faith is the fuel to the decisions we make. Moses had a choice to make. At face value anyone could see that a life filled with riches, power and pleasures at any time would be the choice to make. Yet, there was something far greater than fleeting treasures of the earth. The reproach of Christ. Let this sit for a moment…. The disgrace of Jesus Christ is greater riches than actual riches. The disgrace of Jesus Christ was not even the reward that Moses sought but Moses knew that the reward He was to receive would be beyond anything that Egypt had to offer.

We as the body of Jesus Christ should be thankful that we to have such riches. The reproach of Jesus Christ is a mark proving that we belong to him. This mark shows that we have the riches of His reproach that one day we will receive the reward, which is His Glory.
