The Presence of the LORD: Safety and Destruction

Devotional Journal: Reflection on Psalm 68:1-2, 2 Thessalonians 1:6-10

Fire is one of the best ways to describe the Presence of the LORD. It is a tool and element that brings warmth and energy. On the opposite side of fire, it can burn you if not handled properly and cause destruction. It must be approached with respect.

How much more should we show respect and honor towards the LORD. The creator and sustainer of life. His warmth fills our heart with love. We have strength because of the energy He gives us. He is Holy so we must approach Him in a holy manner.

It is because of the blood of Jesus Christ that in the LORD presence we find safety. By Jesus blood we have been made holy. Otherwise, His presence alone would be the cause of our destruction. Let us always be mindful of our own posture before Him. That His presence may bring abundance upon our life. Amen!

1  Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered:
Let them also that hate him flee before him.
2  As smoke is driven away, so drive them away:
As wax melteth before the fire,
So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.-Psalm 68:1-2
(KJV)

6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; 7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8 In flaming fire ptaking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 10 When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day. -2 Thessalonians 1:6-10 (KJV)
